Assemblies
Fellowship Hall
The Fellowship Hall Assembly, located in St Mary, Jamaica West Indies, began after a group of fifteen (15) individuals who were associated with another church, were left without a minister due to drastic changes in the doctrine of baptism. The group was however, determined to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.
During the latter part of 1961, they heard of the work at 20 East Road and were further informed that a baptism would be held at one of the branches in Waterford. They attended this baptism and were impressed with what they saw. Subsequently Pastor Hixroy Joseph Waugh, was consulted about membership.
During this time, Elder Hyde who was a member of that group, and who was in the United States of America, had a dream of a baptismal service being held in Fellowship Hall where two men were conducting the proceedings. On his return to Jamaica, he saw Pastor Waugh for the first time and was amazed to realize that he was one of the individuals he saw in his vision.
By this time, all were convinced that the Lord was leading them, and hence they pledged their allegiance to the work of the Lord. In March 1962, many of these individuals were re-immersed; and a period of revival followed.
As the church grew, the need for an appropriate building, more accessible to everyone became apparent. Inspired by the Heavenly Father, Sister Margaret Bailey, made available, the plot of land on which the church now stands. The wonder working power of God was very dominant in His church, with manifestation in healing and divine revelations.
As the Church continues to minister, she remains confident that the God who had begun a good work, will be with her as she strives to carry on the Ministry, under leadership of Evangelist Oscar Cameron and his team of workers.
