Assemblies
Connecticut: United States of America
“All glory and praise to the God of all grace, who has bought us, sought us, and guided our ways.”
The establishment of the Church in Connecticut stands as a testament to divine guidance and the fulfilment of early prophecy, which declared that the Church would extend into foreign lands. This vision began to take shape through the faith and initiative of devoted brethren residing in the Connecticut area, who expressed a strong desire for a local Assembly.
Moved by this conviction, members of two families sought approval to formalize a congregation. Following consultations with Pastors Hall and Virgin, and under the authority of Overseer James Spencer, Deaconess Pauline Golding and Sister Charmaine Rattray were commissioned to identify a suitable place of worship where believers could gather on Sabbaths.
With this mandate, and through prayerful dependence on God’s leading, a place was successfully secured in Bridgeport, Connecticut-98 Linen Avenue. After months of anticipation and preparation, the declaration went forth: a Church would indeed be established in Connecticut – To God be the glory.
In 2024, Overseer James Spencer formally commissioned Pastor Virgin, supported by Evangelists Victoria Baxter & Damien Byfield to spearhead the work in Connecticut, and on Sabbath, July 27, 2024, the Connecticut Assembly was officially launched. Shortly thereafter, on Sabbath, August 31, 2024, the first baptism was conducted, and one soul was added to the fellowship – an occasion of great rejoicing both on earth and in heaven.
Seven months later, Brother Horatio Sterling joined the team, strengthening the effort to teach and nurture the growing congregation.
Today, the Church in Connecticut stands as a living fulfilment of prophecy, a beacon of faith, and a testament to God’s enduring grace and faithfulness.
“Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.”
