Children's Sabbath School Ministry

Overview of the Children's Sabbath School Ministry

The Children’s Sabbath School Ministry is an auxiliary of the Seventh-Day Church of God (Reformed) Inc. with its primary focus on nurturing young lives between the ages of 3 to 17 years within the Church and surrounding communities, regarding their holistic development with particular emphasis on the spiritual.

The main objective of the Children’s Sabbath School Ministry is to teach children the way of the Lord, using the Holy Bible and spiritual songs, as well as materials that are age appropriate to stimulate learning. Classes are mainly held on Sabbaths and children are arranged in age groups, where possible. The teachers are required to document the weekly class activities and offering collected. They are also asked to maintain an Attendance Register which is used to monitor the attendance of students and provide information for the preparation of recommendations when required.

Class Structure
The Children’s Sabbath School is structured in five (5) groups based on age as follows:

  • 3-5 years
  • 6-7 years
  • 8-9 years
  • 10-13 years
  • 14-17 years

Operational Structure
The Ministry was instituted and guided by Overseer, Pastor James Spencer, until February 8, 2025. Thereafter, Assistant Overseer, Pastor Andrew Spencer has been tasked with the oversight of this Ministry.

The Ministry was restructured in 2004, and a Planning Committee was established to manage the affairs of the Children’s Sabbath School throughout the Body.

Subsequently, the Committee arranged the branches into four (4) groups for effective planning and coordination, to facilitate communication and closer relationships between teachers, students, and the Planning Committee. Members of the Committee provide guidance to each region/zone. Below is a breakdown of the zones.
